Who are the other students in my child's class?

Log into Transparent Classroom to view which classroom(s) your child/children are enrolled! Additionally, you are able to view student family contact details for your child’s classroom in Transparent Classroom by following these steps:.

What happens if my child gets sick at school?

An isolated space has been created for the nurse (or designee) and children who should become ill during the day

Student temperature would be taken and presenting symptoms would be evaluated

If the student presents an elevated temperature or concerning symptoms, student will remain in nurse’s room and parents will be contacted to pick up student

Nurse or designee will contact parents and/or emergency contact (if parents are not available) to discuss issues and plan for student

If the student has a temperature and other COVID symptoms, the Winnebago County Health Department (WCHD) will be contacted and they may also contact parent. In this case, it will be the WCHD that determines when the student may return to school.

Nurse’s room will be sanitized after each student

The affected room(s) will be sanitized following all guidelines

Social distance regulations will be followed and dividers will be used to separate students from each other when in nurse’s room

Students who become ill during the day must be picked up from school within 30 minutes of call to parent or emergency contact will be called

Any student who becomes ill, including those from Young Child, will be picked up from the exit door in the nurse’s room, at the front of the building (Door #1)

What happens if If there is a suspected or confirmed COVID-19 case in the school?

The affected room(s) will be sanitized following all guidelines

The Winnebago County Health Department (WCHD) and child care licensing (DCFS) will be contacted and MPA will follow their directions

Staff and parents/caregivers will be notified that a member of the classroom community has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Confidentiality will be maintained.

The school community will be notified that a child in the school (not their classroom) has been diagnosed with COVID-19. Confidentiality will be maintained. Should a student quarantine, classroom quarantine, or school closure be required, the WCHD will dictate all follow-up action.

There may be times that students in a classroom will be quarantined without closure of the entire school. The WCHD will determine the need for any quarantine. A quarantine could range from 72 hours to 14 days. At the end of the quarantine, WCHD would determine if additional quarantine time is needed.

How do I order my child lunch?

If your child is a full day student in the Young Child program (2 year old), lunch is included. For all other programs, read on!

Students outside the young child program can bring their own lunch. Some parents prefer to purchase a lunch, however, so MPA offers a paid school lunch through Gourmet Gorilla, who is offering offering a variety of individually packaged ala carte cold lunch options that can be customized to your child’s preferences. Food items include a number of different wraps, sandwiches, salads, and sides. You may also choose milk or bottled water to accompany the meal. The price of each lunch will be dependent upon the options and quantities you select.

To order lunches, please complete the following before Tuesday at midnight for the following week:

1) Go to

2) Click on the “Register” button to create a profile. You will need to create a new account which includes credit card information to process your payment.

3) Once registered, you will see a dashboard with all the relevant information for your account.

4) Add a child by clicking on “Add Child” then enter our school’s code which is MP024.

5) Click on “Place Order” next to the child’s name to view the menu options. The left side of the screen shows a calendar with all days available for ordering. After selecting your items, click on the next available date to place an order.

Reminder: Orders must be placed by Tuesday at midnight for the following week. To order lunch for the first week of school, orders must be placed by August 18th.

How do I use the new online distance dropoff form to save time in carline during dropoff?

1) Visit the distance drop-off form at
2) Enter your PIN. If you don’t know your PIN, see below.
3) Select your child and select the correct choice for a couple quick questions.

You have 2 ways to get your PIN:
1) Log into Transparent Classroom, click on your photo/name on the top right, then PROFILE
2) Open your August 25th email with subject line “Distance Dropoff PIN for Montessori Private Academy”

The way this app was created relies on having a specific unique number assigned to students & families and doesn’t currently enable families to set their own PIN numbers. If you want to let Transparent Classroom know this would be valuable, you can create new or vote on existing ideas for this here!

How can I get involved and/or help the school?

“… students with involved parents are more likely to have higher grades and test scores, attend school regularly, have better social skills, show improved behavior, and adapt well to school.”
– National Coalition for Parent Involvement in education

There are ALWAYS ways you can get involved using your strengths, skills and interests! Some people volunteer for 5 minutes per year. Some people volunteer for hours per year. One thing is for certain: you have something to give and we’d love for you to join in!
