Meet Our Board of Directors

Our board consists of parents, community members and staff members and most members serve a minimum of 2 years per term. Elections occur each May and anyone interested in serving on the board can submit his/her interest through contacting the sitting president or the school's executive director (at any time of the year; by end of April for May elections).

Sarah A. Nonevski is honored and delighted to serve on the board of Montessori Private Academy. As a parent, Sarah has witnessed first hand the deeply transformative nature of a Montessori education in her 9 year-old son, who has attended MPA since age 2. As a member of the MPA board, Sarah looks forward to shaping the curriculum and direction of MPA to nurture a community of life-long learners.

Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Loyola University Chicago and her MBA from the University of Cincinnati. She spent most of her career in the Health & Wellness industry, working as a Strategic Account Executive for Walgreen’s before more recently devoting her energies full time to her family. She lives in Rockford with her husband and two children.


Michelle Gullett

Michelle’s super power is identifying patterns where others see complexity and she’s driven to make an impact with her work. Michelle was appointed to the Board in 2019. She currently chairs the technology and communications committees and is working to automate processes and improve transparency and communication. Michelle and her husband, Rick, have been MPA parents since 2014 when their eldest started in the young child program. They now have 2 children attending MPA.

Michelle has a degree in sociology and has worked in various industries including marketing, travel, photography, education, manufacturing, and technology and has international experience including living and working abroad in El Salvador, Central America during her time as a Peace Corps volunteer from 2005-2007. She now leads the global data and analytics team at a technology firm headquartered out of Itasca, IL and is very excited to be working with the amazing staff and parents to take MPA into its next chapter.


Amanda Reisinger

MPA’s Mom and Tot class (circa 2008) brought the Reisinger family to MPA and they have stayed since, loving the Montessori learning style. Amanda joined the board in 2017, taking the president role in 2019. She earned a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Marquette University, recently completed certification in dry needling, and started taking violin lessons. Also, she likes to knit socks and read.


Lindsay Jozefiak

Lindsey Jozefiak was elected to the MPA board in June 2018. She and her husband have been MPA parents since 2014.
For the last ten years, Lindsey has worked in advanced analytics & statistics with Grainger in Lake Forest, Illinois. She earned a BA from Monmouth College and an MS from Northwestern University.

Lindsey and her husband, Troy, live in an old home in Rockford with their son and dog.

Launa Middeler Alkhabbaz has a special interest in childhood development and education. She has 3 children attending MPA and is excited to get involved in helping shape the future of MPA.

Ionut Coziano has a mechanical engineering background and extensive international experience, both as a student and adult. He has been living in the United States since 2012 across 3 different states and continues to love traveling. Ionut looks forward to bringing a new perspective to the MPA Board and help with decision-making to help move MPA into its next chapter.


Faith Haley

Term through May 2023

Faith Haley leads the undergraduate admission office at Rockford University. She has a Bachelor of Art in Women’s Studies with a minor in music from Hope College and Master of Education in Enrollment Management and Policy from University of Southern California. In her free time, she loves to bake cupcakes and plan events. Faith and her husband, Trevor, joined MPA in 2020 when their son started in the Young Child program. In addition to their eldest, they also have twin girls who are excited to attend MPA in 2022.


Dawn Monge
Dawn Monge
Term through May 2022

Dawn Monge was appointed to the MPA board in June 2019 and currently chairs the fund development committee. Dawn is a school administrator for the Harlem School District. She has a background in teaching special education and intervention. She has a bachelor’s degree in child development with a minor in human development accompanied by an elementary teaching certificate. She also has master’s degrees in special education, reading & literacy, and educational leadership. She serves on the Burpee Museum of Natural History Board of Directors as vice president and is a member of the Consolidated Committee of Practitioners with the Illinois State Board of Education. Her son has attended Montessori Private Academy since 2015 when he started in the Young Child classroom.


Mark Muccianti

Mark Muccianti previously served as the President for the Belvidere Township Park District. His approach to helping a Board includes providing proper governance as well as allowing the system to mature and adjust as new obstacles in our everchanging world. Leading young people is a focus and passion of Mark’s, whether it be focused on his children or other young adults. He is excited about utilizing his education and professional experience to help MPA and encourages others to get involved to ensure our community thrives into the future.


Brandon Murray

Brandon Murray, an avid SCUBA diver and world traveler, owns and operates Murray Construction LLC and Murray Realty and currently has a son attending MPA.


Renee Schott
Renee Schott
Term through May 2023

Renee Schott has extensive experience in education. She taught in the Rockford Public School district for six years before becoming an assistant principal and then spent eight years in building administration as an assistant principal and academy principal before moving into district administration. Her son has attended MPA since Pre-K, and the entire family truly enjoys and appreciates being part of the MPA community.


Balaji Suresh

Term through May 2022

Balaji Suresh was appointed to the MPA board in June 2019. He chairs the board’s finance committee and is also a member of the facility and strategic planning committees. Balaji and his wife have been MPA parents since 2017 when their daughter joined the young child program.

Balaji moved to the Rockford area in 2015 to join the senior management team at Taylor Company in Rockton, IL. Prior to this, he held various operations leadership roles at Carrier Corporation and United Technologies Corporation.

Balaji holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in industrial & systems engineering.

Staff Members

Lynn Glovsky
Lynn Glovsky

Lynn’s journey with MPA began in 2010 and has traversed multiple roles within the school including teaching in multiple classrooms, working in administration, implementing curriculum to address early reading gaps and supporting students with high level dysfunction through her Wilson program certification. More recently, Lynn has stepped into leading as head of school and is focused on end-to-end curriculum continuity, staff development, strategic direction, and community relationships, both inside and outside the school. Additionally, both of her sons are alumni of MPA. This gives her a unique perspective when working with prospective and current families. Prior to her arrival at MPA, Lynn’s career was in human resources, and she brings this experience–sourcing, hiring, and managing employees to her role as Head of School.


Cooper Simon-Tobin

Term Through May 2022

Cooper was voted Staff Board Representative in 2021 by the staff at MPA. Cooper earned a Bachelor’s in Elementary Education with a middle school endorsement from Rockford University in 2008 and a Masters in Montessori education in 2012 from St. Catherine University. She has been with MPA since 2003 and helped develop and implement the middle school program in 2008. In 2013, she developed and added the 9th grade curriculum, enabling the middle school classroom to include the full Montessori three-year program. Cooper currently resides in Belvidere with her husband and daughter, who attends MPA as a student.
