Meet Our Board of Directors

Our board consists of parents, community members and staff members. Board meetings occur monthly and are open to any interested party. Elections for board occur at the end of the school year and anyone interested in serving on the board can submit his/her interest through contacting the sitting president or the school's executive director.

Reisinger Amanda Reisinger, President
Term Through May 2020
MPA’s Mom and Tot class (circa 2008) brought the Reisinger family to MPA and they have stayed since, loving the Montessori learning style. Amanda joined the board in 2017, taking the president role in 2019. She earned a Master of Physical Therapy degree from Marquette University, recently completed certification in dry needling, and started taking violin lessons. Also, she likes to knit socks and read.
Nonevski Sarah Nonevski, Vice President

Sarah A. Nonevski is honored and delighted to serve on the board of Montessori Private Academy. As a parent, Sarah has witnessed first hand the deeply transformative nature of a Montessori education in her 9 year-old son, who has attended MPA since age 2. As a member of the MPA board, Sarah looks forward to shaping the curriculum and direction of MPA to nurture a community of life-long learners.
Sarah received her Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Loyola University Chicago and her MBA from the University of Cincinnati. She spent most of her career in the Health & Wellness industry, working as a Strategic Account Executive for Walgreen’s before more recently devoting her energies full time to her family. She lives in Rockford with her husband and two children.

Michelle's super power is identifying patterns where others see complexity and she's driven to make an impact with her work. Michelle was appointed to the Board in 2019 for a 1 year term. She currently chairs the technology committee and is working to automate processes and improve transparency and communication. Michelle and her husband, Rick, have been MPA parents since 2014 when their eldest started in the young child program. They now have 2 children attending MPA.
Michelle has a degree in sociology and has worked in various industries including marketing, travel, photography, education, manufacturing, and technology and has international experience including living and working abroad in El Salvador, Central America during her time as a Peace Corps volunteer from 2005-2007. She now leads the global data & analytics team at a technology firm headquartered out of Itasca, IL and is very excited to be working with the amazing staff and parents to take MPA into its next chapter.

Hughes Kim Hughes, President Emeritus

Kim has been an MPA parent since 2011 and currently has a son in kindergarten. She began serving on the Board in 2014 and has served in many capacities including home & school co-chair, board secretary, and board president.
Kim has a Bachelor of Science degree in medical technology. She currently works for a local health care system as a computer analyst for the lab system and analyst for the patient-facing MyChart application. In her free time, Kim enjoys reading and spending time with her two sons and rescue dog.
Jozefiak Lindsey Jozefiak, Member

Lindsey Jozefiak was elected to the MPA board in June 2018. She and her husband have been MPA parents since 2014.
For the last ten years, Lindsey has worked in advanced analytics & statistics with Grainger in Lake Forest, Illinois. She earned a BA from Monmouth College and an MS from Northwestern University.
Lindsey and her husband, Troy, live in an old home in Rockford with their son and dog.

Monge Dawn Monge, Member

Dawn Monge was appointed to the MPA board in June 2019 for a 1 year term. She currently chairs the fund development committee and is a part of the executive director search committee.
Dawn is a school administrator for the Harlem School District. She has a background in teaching special education and intervention. She has a bachelor's degree in child development with a minor in human development accompanied by an elementary teaching certificate. She also has master's degrees in special education, reading & literacy, and educational leadership. She serves on the Burpee Museum of Natural History Board of Directors as vice president and is a member of the Consolidated Committee of Practitioners with the Illinois State Board of Education. Her son has attended Montessori Private Academy since 2015 when he started in the Young Child classroom.
Suresh Balaji Suresh, Member

Balaji Suresh was appointed to the MPA board in June 2019 for a 1 year term. He chairs the board’s finance committee and is also a member of the facility and strategic planning committees. Balaji and his wife have been MPA parents since 2017 when their daughter joined the young child program.
Balaji moved to the Rockford area in 2015 to join the senior management team at Taylor Company in Rockton, IL. Prior to this, he held various operations leadership roles at Carrier Corporation and United Technologies Corporation.
Balaji holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in industrial & systems engineering.

Shelly Shelly Todd, Member

Shelly was voted Staff Board Representative in 2019 by the staff at MPA. She graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and a minor in psychology. She began her Montessori career in early childhood (ages 3-6) in 2004 in South Carolina. In 2011, she received her AMS Early Childhood Montessori certification. She began teaching at MPA in early childhood in 2016 and switched to Elementary I (ages 6-9) in 2017. She fulfilled the requirements for an AMS Montessori Elementary I certification in 2019. She is dedicated and passionate about guiding her students to have fun and love learning. She has two adult children (one of which attended Montessori until fourth grade). She enjoys cooking, gardening, reading and escaping to the East Coast.
