“Children are human beings to whom respect is due, superior to us by reason of their innocence and of the greater possibilities of their future.” –Maria Montessori
I have been a dedicated staff member of MPA since 1995. From the moment I came to Montessori Private Academy, right out of college, I knew there was no other place I wanted to teach. I received my BS from Bradley University with a degree in Elementary Education. I also have certificates from the American Montessori Society to direct both Lower (ages 6-9) and Upper (ages 9-12) Elementary classrooms.
I taught Lower Elementary for three years and then moved to Upper Elementary, having taught 4th, 5th 6th grades for more than 16 years. Teaching in Upper Elementary has given me so many rewarding moments and memories, and the kids are a never-ending supply of inspiration. We have a lot of fun within the classroom, which has made all the years go by very quickly.
I am a history buff, and I love to read. My husband owns a marketing company. Recently, we started a t-shirt business together that keeps us very busy, too.
